The world's important stories don't always begin in a newsroom.
Some of the most meaningful news begins with people who witness events, experience change first-hand or recognise something that deserves public attention. PlanetPress24 welcomes credible story ideas, eyewitness accounts, relevant documents and personal experiences that may help illuminate developments around the world.
Whether you are a resident witnessing changes in your community, an employee concerned about an important issue, a traveller observing an emerging situation or a researcher with significant findings, your information may provide a starting point for responsible journalism.
Stories that deserve a closer look

You do not need journalistic experience to contact us. The following information can help our editorial team understand your submission and decide whether further investigation is appropriate.
Every story requires editorial assessment
Receiving a reader contribution does not mean that PlanetPress24 has verified the information or decided to publish it.
Potential stories may be assessed according to their credibility, originality, public significance, supporting evidence, legal considerations and available editorial resources.
- Initial assessment: We consider whether the subject falls within our editorial scope and whether there is a legitimate reason for further reporting.
- Verification: Relevant claims may be checked against original documents, independent sources, publicly available information or other reliable evidence.
- Further questions: Where appropriate, we may request clarification, additional information or permission to contact relevant individuals.
- Fairness: People or organisations facing substantial allegations may need an appropriate opportunity to respond.
- Publication decision: Any decision to investigate, publish, update or decline a submission remains an editorial decision.
- Corrections: If a published report is later found to contain a material factual error, it remains subject to our correction procedures.
What makes a strong and responsible submission?
The quality of supporting information is more important than polished writing. The following principles help protect readers, contributors and people who may be affected by publication.
Accuracy and honesty
Submit information you genuinely believe to be accurate. Clearly identify estimates, personal opinions, second-hand accounts and facts you cannot independently confirm.
Original information
First-hand observations and original documents can be valuable. Explain how you obtained the information and whether it has already appeared elsewhere.
Respect for privacy
Avoid unnecessary disclosure of private addresses, personal contact information, medical records, children's identities or other sensitive details.
Copyright and permissions
Do not present another person's writing, photographs or video as your own. Identify ownership and relevant permissions before suggesting material for publication.
No fabricated or misleading material
Do not submit invented accounts, manipulated documents, deceptively edited footage or AI-generated material represented as genuine eyewitness evidence.
Lawful and responsible submissions
Do not obtain information through hacking, unlawful surveillance, threats, harassment or other illegal activity. Do not send material subject to legal restrictions without first explaining the issue.
Visual evidence needs context
Photographs, video footage and documents can provide valuable evidence, but their meaning depends on authenticity and context.
If you contact us about visual material, please explain the following information where relevant:
- Origin: Who created the photograph, video or document, and how did you obtain it?
- Location: Where was the material recorded or produced?
- Date: When was the material created, and does it depict the event being described?
- Editing: Has the material been cropped, enhanced, altered, translated or processed with artificial intelligence?
- Ownership: Who holds the copyright or other relevant rights?
- Personal information: Could publication expose vulnerable people, confidential sources or private information?
Your safety comes before a potential story
We recognise that some people may wish to report information involving employers, public authorities, commercial organisations or other powerful interests.
Such circumstances can create personal, professional or legal risks. PlanetPress24 does not want contributors to expose themselves or others to unnecessary harm.
Do not take unnecessary risks
Never enter unsafe locations, confront dangerous individuals or place yourself in danger merely to obtain photographs or information for a potential story.
Do not assume anonymity
Electronic communication can reveal identity or location. We cannot guarantee anonymity simply because a contribution is labelled confidential.
Discuss sensitive material first
Before sending highly sensitive documents, make initial contact without including unnecessary identifying information and discuss whether a suitable communication route is available.
Understanding what happens to your contribution
Sending information to PlanetPress24 allows our publisher to receive and assess the material for the purpose of considering the enquiry. It does not automatically transfer copyright or create an agreement to publish.
Where material is suitable for publication, additional clarification, verification or permissions may be required.
- Editorial control: The newsroom determines whether a contribution is relevant, sufficiently verified and appropriate for publication.
- Publication rights: Any additional licence or permission required to reproduce protected material may be agreed separately.
- Attribution: Crediting a contributor, withholding a name or using another form of attribution requires editorial consideration and, where relevant, agreement.
- Payment: Submission does not establish an entitlement to payment. Any paid arrangement must be expressly agreed in advance.
- Editing: Material considered for publication may require factual verification, editing, contextual explanation or legal review.
- Privacy: Personal information is handled in accordance with applicable law, subject to any relevant journalistic provisions or exemptions.
For information about personal data and reader correspondence, see our Privacy Policy.

You may use writing assistance, but you remain responsible for accurately describing your information. Disclose material AI-generated or altered evidence. Do not submit invented quotations, fabricated documents or synthetic images as authentic records.
